Job description

We are supporting multiple Project Manager opportunities with organizations delivering complex mission-critical and data center construction projects. Depending on experience, candidates may be considered for either a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager position.

The selected individual will help manage projects from preconstruction through commissioning, turnover, and closeout. Responsibilities will include project planning, financial management, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, technical oversight, and stakeholder communication.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering data centers, mission-critical facilities, telecommunications infrastructure, or other technically complex construction projects. Candidates with strong general contracting, field execution, MEP, or critical infrastructure experience are encouraged to apply.

While the positions are based in Richmond & Lenexa, the teams are open to considering qualified candidates seeking a hybrid arrangement, provided they can travel to project sites and attend in-person meetings as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage mission-critical and data center construction projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
  • Coordinate with clients, project executives, design professionals, field leadership, trade partners, consultants, and commissioning teams.
  • Assist with or lead estimating, budgeting, constructability reviews, procurement planning, and preconstruction activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and evaluate project schedules, milestones, and critical-path activities.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, commitments, change orders, and overall financial performance.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, buyout, contract execution, scope development, and performance.
  • Review construction documents, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change documentation.
  • Coordinate MEP and critical infrastructure systems, including electrical distribution, backup power, cooling, controls, and telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Monitor project safety, quality, schedule, cost, and risk throughout construction.
  • Conduct project meetings, site visits, progress reviews, and stakeholder updates.
  • Identify technical, financial, scheduling, and operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Support equipment procurement and the integration of long-lead electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Coordinate with commissioning and operations teams to support system testing, turnover, and operational readiness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
  • Mentor project engineers, assistant project managers, and other team members, particularly at the Senior Project Manager level.
  • Support project pursuits, business development efforts, and opportunities for future client growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent construction experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of construction or project management experience.
  • Experience working on data centers, mission-critical facilities, telecommunications projects, critical infrastructure, or similarly complex construction programs.
  • Strong understanding of construction project delivery, including preconstruction, procurement, field execution, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Knowledge of MEP systems and critical infrastructure.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, cost controls, schedules, and change orders.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and technical disciplines.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction-management software.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling platforms.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and attend in-person meetings as required.
Preferred Experience
  • Hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, AI, or high-performance computing data centers.
  • Design-Build, Construction Management, powered-shell, or build-to-suit delivery models.
  • Critical power, electrical distribution, substations, UPS systems, generators, and switchgear.
  • Mechanical cooling, heat-rejection, controls, fiber, or network infrastructure.
  • Fast-track and schedule-driven construction projects.
  • General contractor, developer, owner’s representative, or construction-management experience.
  • OSHA certification or equivalent safety credentials.
