Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex electrical construction projects within the mission-critical and data center space. This individual will play a central role from early project development and preconstruction through field execution, ensuring the commercial, technical, operational, and logistical pieces are aligned for successful delivery.

This is a highly collaborative, client-facing position for someone who is comfortable managing fast-paced projects, navigating evolving design and procurement requirements, and driving accountability across internal teams, trade partners, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project planning and preconstruction efforts, establishing the scope, schedule, cost plan, staffing model, procurement approach, logistics strategy, and execution plan before mobilization.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, bid documents, and responsibility matrices to identify gaps, risk areas, assumptions, exclusions, and opportunities to improve the project approach.
  • Direct the estimating process, including electrical takeoffs, labor assumptions, vendor and subcontractor pricing, general conditions, prefabrication, temporary infrastructure, BIM/VDC costs, escalation, and project-specific risk factors.
  • Develop proposals, pricing packages, clarifications, exclusions, and commercial terms; lead pricing discussions and scope reviews with clients and project partners.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor sourcing, bid leveling, scope alignment, capacity reviews, negotiations, and selection.
  • Build project-specific procurement plans, with particular focus on long-lead electrical equipment, material releases, vendor coordination, owner-furnished equipment, and milestone-driven purchasing.
  • Partner with project controls and estimating teams to establish cost codes, work breakdown structures, schedules of values, labor-hour budgets, forecasting tools, reporting requirements, and billing plans.
  • Review and help shape project schedules, identifying critical-path concerns, procurement constraints, resource needs, design interfaces, and sequencing risks.
  • Lead constructability reviews and coordinate with BIM/VDC, design, prefab, and field teams to improve installation planning, work packaging, material kitting, and overall execution.
  • Identify and present value-engineering opportunities that improve constructability, reduce cost, mitigate schedule risk, or enhance project outcomes.
  • Support design-assist and coordination efforts by managing RFIs, design changes, technical decisions, and communication among owners, engineers, general contractors, trade partners, and internal teams.
  • Establish project risk registers and tracking systems for action items, documentation, procurement, commercial exposure, schedule concerns, and readiness activities.
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, licensing, AHJ requirements, insurance, bonds, site access, and other pre-mobilization requirements.
  • Ensure project plans address QA/QC, safety, commissioning, temporary utilities, site logistics, material storage, construction power, communications, and turnover requirements.
  • Partner closely with construction and field leadership to ensure a thorough transition from preconstruction into execution.
  • Serve as a primary client contact for project strategy, commercial matters, cost, schedule, scope, and key project decisions.
Desired Background
  • Proven project management experience supporting large-scale electrical construction projects, ideally within data centers, mission-critical facilities, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, industrial, or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong background in preconstruction, estimating, procurement, subcontractor management, and commercial project delivery.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents, electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and cost reports.
  • Experience working in fast-track, design-build, or design-assist project environments.
  • Familiarity with project controls, BIM/VDC coordination, prefabrication planning, commissioning requirements, and long-lead equipment management.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Comfortable leading cross-functional teams and making sound decisions in a high-growth, deadline-driven environment.
