Job summary

Jennings Mechanical is seeking a Project Manager to lead commercial mechanical construction projects from startup through closeout in Charleston, SC. You will manage budgets, schedules, procurement, BIM coordination, and client communications to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires extensive experience in HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal, with strong leadership, financial, and organizational skills. Travel to active sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Construction Management or related degree preferred.
• 5+ years of commercial mechanical construction experience.
• 3+ years managing commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and sheet metal systems.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and schedules.
• Strong financial, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents and establish project administration; develop SOV and procurement logs; coordinate with accounting.
• Lead scheduling, coordination with fabrication teams, and procurement timelines.
• Complete project buyout, issue POs and subcontracts, coordinate long-lead items.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and change orders; approve invoices.
• Oversee master construction schedule; plan manpower with Superintendent; monitor milestones.
• Conduct regular jobsite visits; ensure work adheres to drawings, specs, and codes; coordinate inspections.
• Serve as Jennings Mechanical's primary customer representative; maintain relationships with owners and vendors; attend meetings.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings; review clash reports; support field installation planning.
• Support Superintendent with labor planning, procurement, scheduling; remove obstacles to field productivity.
• Coordinate startups, inspections, O&M manuals, warranties, and final closeout documentation.
