This position will support our National Healthcare Division based out of Nashville, TN but will require extensive travel (up to 75%) to projects across the United States. Applicants must be open to extensive travel.

Role Summary

The Senior Aptitude Project Manager will provide overall regional direction and leadership for the Aptitude program across all phases of the project lifecycle. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction, operational excellence, financial management, team leadership, and relationship management with all stakeholders, driving contracting and business development, and comprehensive risk management to meet or exceed all contractual and financial targets. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Supports all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
  • Coordinates technology-related design and construction efforts that meet constructability, quality, financial, and technical standards.
  • Provides technical expertise related to design assist, installation, and network integration of systems.
  • Creates technology-specific scopes of work and responsibility matrices tailored to individual projects.
  • Performs quantity takeoffs and obtains vendor & trade partner pricing to compile complete & accurate budgets or hard bid proposals.
  • Manages budgets, costs, and projections related to assigned projects.
  • Assists with the development, dissemination, accountability, and discipline of Aptitude processes and standards.
  • Leads, coaches, and motivates team members in alignment with JE Dunn's Strategic Objectives and Core Values.
  • Supports deployment of Aptitude strategies for project delivery to achieve financial, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Participates in company-wide communication programs and strategy sessions to enhance marketing, sales, and delivery of technology-related services.
  • Manages budgets, schedules, staffing projections, billing, and collections for assigned projects.
  • Develops and manages project plans and schedules to achieve scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Tracks and reports on project milestones and progress.
  • Communicates, tracks, and resolves issues effectively throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Determines performance metrics and conducts post-project evaluations.
  • Ensures proper management and archiving of project documents upon completion.
Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning and networking.
  • Engaging with local civic organizations to establish Aptitude as a differentiator.
  • Managing the technology consulting process and initiating business development activities.
  • Providing oversight of strategic direction, resource management, and risk management for the Aptitude program.
  • Serving as the regional relationship executive and escalation point for project risks.
  • Developing staffing plans aligned with contractual commitments and growth strategies.
  • Collaborating with leadership to develop business plans and operational decisions.
  • Leading regional communication on Aptitude integration and team development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and timely.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to develop project proposals, fees, and work plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and self-starter attitude.
  • Thorough knowledge of project processes.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate internally and externally.
  • Capability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and generate future work.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, IT, or related field (Required); relevant experience may be considered in lieu.
  • 10+ years in IT/Security/Life Safety systems (Required).
  • 8+ years of project management experience (Required).
Working Environment & Benefits
  • Valid driver's license, ability to lift 25 pounds, travel, and work non-traditional hours.
  • Work may include project sites and office settings, with physical activities such as sitting, standing, walking, etc.
