Role Summary
The Aptitude Project Manager 2 will be responsible for constructability reviews, conceptual estimating, consultation, bid pricing, project management, change management, and coordinating with project teams on technology or Aptitude scopes of work. This position is expected to be a subject matter expert, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and project management skills to effectively integrate technology scopes on selected projects. All activities will support JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
APTITUDE PROJECT MANAGEMENT FAMILY - CORE
- Supports all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
- Coordinates technology-related design and construction efforts that meet constructability, quality, financial, and technical standards.
- Provides technical expertise related to design assist, installation, and network integration of systems.
- Creates technology-specific scopes of work and responsibility matrices tailored to individual projects.
- Performs quantity takeoffs and obtains vendor & trade partner pricing to compile accurate budgets or hard bid proposals.
- Manages budgets, costs, and projections related to assigned projects.
- Assists with the development, dissemination, accountability, and discipline of Aptitude processes and standards.
- Leads, coaches, and motivates team members in alignment with JE Dunn's Strategic Objectives and Core Values.
- Supports the deployment of Aptitude strategies for project delivery to achieve financial, quality, and performance objectives.
- Participates in company-wide communication programs and strategy sessions to enhance marketing, sales, and delivery of technology services.
- Manages budgets, schedules, staffing projections, billing, and collections for assigned projects.
- Develops and manages project plans and schedules to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
- Tracks and reports progress on project milestones with team members, stakeholders, and leaders.
- Communicates, tracks, and resolves issues effectively throughout the project life cycle.
- Determines performance measurement criteria and conducts post-project evaluations.
- Ensures proper management and archiving of project documents upon completion.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core

In addition, this position will be responsible for:
- Managing the technology consulting process between JE Dunn and client/owner's consultants and contractors.
- Initiating business development activities to grow Aptitude's contribution.
- Supporting project pursuit activities to maximize Aptitude's value to customers.
- Identifying and developing new technologies supporting the Smart Building offering.
- Facilitating training to generate awareness of Aptitude offerings.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and benchmarking.
- Engaging with civic organizations and municipalities to establish Aptitude as a differentiator.
- Assisting in staff growth through recruitment, orientation, and training.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
- Intermediate communication skills (verbal and written).
- Effective presentation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (intermediate).
- Ability to develop project proposals, fees, and work plans.
- Strong personal and interpersonal skills as a self-starter.
- Thorough knowledge of project processes.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate internally and externally.
- Ability to manage budgets and maximize profitability.
- Ability to build relationships that transcend individual projects.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, IT, or related field (Required).
- Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
- 8+ years in IT/Security/Life Safety systems (Required).
- 5+ years project management experience (Required).
Working Environment
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- May require travel and/or relocation.
- Willing to work non-traditional hours.
- Exposure to extreme conditions possible.
- Work may be at project sites or in the office.
