Role Summary
The Senior Aptitude Project Manager will provide overall regional direction and leadership for the Aptitude program across all phases of the project lifecycle. This position is responsible for providing strategic direction, operational excellence, financial management, team leadership, and relationship management with all stakeholders, driving contracting and business development, and comprehensive risk management to meet or exceed all contractual and financial targets. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Supports safety culture: Supports all aspects of the company's safety culture and creates awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
- Technology coordination: Coordinate design and construction efforts related to technology that meet standards.
- Technical expertise: Provide expertise in design assist, installation, and network integration of systems.
- Scope creation: Create technology-specific scopes of work and responsibility matrices.
- Budget management: Perform quantity takeoffs, obtain vendor and trade partner pricing, and manage budgets and costs.
- Process development: Assist with the development and discipline of Aptitude processes and standards.
- Team leadership: Lead, coach, and motivate team members aligned with JE Dunn's values.
- Strategy deployment: Support Aptitude strategies for project delivery.
- Communication: Participate in company communication programs and strategy sessions.
- Project management: Manage budgets, schedules, staffing, billing, and collections.
- Project planning: Develop and manage project plans and schedules.
- Progress tracking: Track, report, and communicate project milestones and issues.
- Performance evaluation: Measure results and conduct post-project evaluations.
- Documentation: Ensure proper management and archiving of project documents.

- Maintain professional knowledge through ongoing education and networking.
- Engage with civic organizations to position Aptitude as a leader.
- Manage technology consulting processes and grow business development efforts.
- Oversee strategic direction and resource management.
- Serve as escalation point for project risks and ensure appropriate solutions.
- Review staffing and resource plans for projects.
- Participate in business planning and operational decisions.
- Lead communication on Aptitude integration strategies.
- Develop and train new team members.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to perform work accurately, timely, and effectively communicate.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project proposal development.
- Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of project processes.
- Ability to build relationships and manage budgets for profitability and growth.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, IT, or related field (Required).
- 10+ years in IT/Security/Life Safety systems and 8+ years project management experience (Required).
Working Environment
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 100%.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work in various conditions.
