Job summary

Thomas Young Group in Austin, TX, is seeking a Senior Project Manager for land development to lead complex civil engineering projects from concept through construction.

You will serve as the main client liaison, oversee plans and specifications, and guide engineers and CAD technicians toward timely, on-budget delivery while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas.
• 6-10+ years of land development experience including multi-family, residential, and commercial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working on projects for cities, counties, and municipalities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead land development projects and develop plans and specs (paving, grading, drainage, water, sewers, etc.).
• Serve as primary client contact, ensuring excellent service and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supervise engineers and CAD technicians, providing guidance and mentorship.
• Manage project reporting, timelines, and invoicing to clients, ensuring alignment with budgets and schedules.
• Manage projects for cities, counties, and municipalities ensuring regulatory compliance.

What you'll be doing:

Lead land development projects, overseeing the development of plans and specifications for various projects including paving, grading, drainage, water lines, sanitary sewers, and more

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent service and clear communication throughout the project lifecycle

Supervise the work of engineers and CAD technicians, providing guidance, support, and mentorship

Manage project reporting, timelines, and invoicing to clients, ensuring alignment with project budgets and schedules

Manage projects for cities, counties, and municipalities, ensuring compliance with local regulations and requirements

What we're looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Texas

6-10+ years of experience in land development, including multi-family, residential, and commercial projects

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, and Word

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working on projects for cities, counties, and municipalities is preferred
