Job summary

Icon Mechanical is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Convergent Solutions Group at our Granite City, IL headquarters. The ideal candidate has 8+ years’ experience in HVAC service or mechanical project management and can independently manage projects from award through closeout with minimal oversight.

Primary responsibilities include developing client relationships, leading projects, monitoring financial performance, procuring materials, and overseeing subcontractor performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record leading projects independently from award through closeout with minimal oversight.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Associate’s degree in HVACR Technologies, or equivalent field experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, construction details/design and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
• Familiarity or knowledge of digital controls systems is a plus.
• Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication and professional presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage client relationships with new and existing customers—understanding their business needs, recommending technical solutions, and ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
• Lead projects from award through closeout, including schedule development, handoff from preconstruction/estimating, and keeping the project team aligned.
• Monitor project financial performance, including cost projections, WIP reporting, and profitability analysis.
• Procure materials and equipment, issue subcontracts, and oversee subcontractor and vendor performance.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project billings/pay applications.
