Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Houston, TX to lead large-scale heavy civil construction programs such as highways and bridges, from preconstruction through closeout.

You will manage multi-project portfolios, drive safety, quality, schedule, and profitability, and coordinate with owners, DOT officials, and engineers. A strong DOT background and ability to mentor PMs are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil or highway projects.
• Experience with DOT or federally funded infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and accountability for large, complex heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and contractual requirements.
• Lead project financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, revenue recognition, and final project profitability.
• Oversee contract administration, including change management, claims support, risk mitigation, and dispute resolution.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with owners, DOT representatives, engineers, inspectors, and key stakeholders.
• Review and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure full compliance and proactive issue resolution.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field leadership.
• Direct subcontractor procurement, negotiations, contract execution, and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with all company safety programs, environmental regulations, and client-specific requirements.
• Lead executive-level project meetings, progress reviews, and client briefings.
• Support preconstruction activities including estimating reviews, constructability analysis, scheduling, and risk assessment.
