Job summary

Primoris Heavy Civil in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale heavy civil projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will direct multi-project portfolios, ensure safety, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction, and manage DOT/federally funded work with senior leadership oversight.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years in heavy civil or highway construction, strong leadership and communication, and proficiency with project controls tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience managing large-scale heavy civil or highway projects.
• Experience with DOT or federally funded infrastructure projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of DOT specifications, contracts, and construction methodologies.
• Ability to manage large budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for large heavy civil construction projects from preconstruction to closeout.
• Manage multiple projects ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and contracts compliance.
• Lead project financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
• Oversee contract administration, changes, claims, risk mitigation, and disputes.
• Serve as primary contact with owners, DOT reps, engineers, inspectors, and stakeholders.
• Review plans, specs, and contracts to ensure compliance and proactive resolution.
• Mentor and lead Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field leadership.
• Direct subcontractor procurement, negotiations, contracts, and performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety programs, environmental regs, and client requirements.
• Lead executive project meetings, progress reviews, and client briefings.
• Support preconstruction activities including estimating reviews, constructability analysis, scheduling, risk assessment.
