Job summary

Ames Construction, a full-service heavy civil and industrial contractor, seeks an experienced Project Manager to drive large mechanical projects from pursuit to close-out. You will lead the project team, ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance, and deliver results within budget and schedule.

The role requires 8+ years in project management on major projects, a related bachelor's degree, and proficiency with Procore, AutoCAD, Blue Beam, ECMS and P6.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management overseeing large and complex mechanical construction projects.
• 5 years of experience on heavy industrial projects preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Outlook; knowledge of Procore AutoCAD, ECMS and P6 desired.
• Excellent time management, oral and written communication, and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team in achieving goals to meet or exceed estimates, budgets, and schedules.
• Prepare and negotiate change orders, assess cost and schedule impacts, and draft claims.
• Oversee weekly labor and equipment reports, and monthly progress/performance reports for owners/clients.
• Coordinate with Equipment and Operations managers to maintain equipment utilization and tracking.
• Review subcontracts and major purchase orders for execution and compliance.
