Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management with involvement in project pursuit to project close-out, overseeing large and complex mechanical construction projects.
• 5 years of experience on heavy industrial projects preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Outlook, and related software programs. Knowledge of Procore Auto CAD, ECMS and P6 desired.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of Ames’ personnel, clients, and subcontractors.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well in a group environment and foster a team approach.
• Highly detail-oriented.
• Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams in meeting goals to exceed estimates, budgets, and company initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with contract, work plans, safety, quality and environmental plans.
• Review project specs, estimates, budgets, and material requirements.
• Prepare and negotiate change orders, assess cost and schedule impacts, and draft claims.
• Oversee weekly labor and equipment reports and monthly progress reports for owners/clients.
• Coordinate with Equipment and Operations managers to maintain equipment utilization.
• Forecast job progress per company guidelines and accounting practices.
• Review subcontractors and major purchase orders for execution.
• Ensure startup, close-out, and continuous improvement processes are followed.
