Job summary

Pickett is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. You will oversee scope, schedule, budget, and safety while serving as the primary client liaison and mentor to junior staff.

You will coordinate across engineering leads, project controls, and accounting, develop financial forecasts, and contribute to business development efforts to grow our utility portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical or related engineering discipline (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience managing engineering or infrastructure projects (required).
• Demonstrated experience managing large or complex projects for electric utilities.
• PE registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (required).
• Previous project management experience with a utility or engineering consulting firm strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of engineering projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities.
• Provide overall leadership for project execution including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety performance.
• Oversee financial performance and profitability of projects and develop recovery plans as needed.
• Serve as primary client relationship manager, maintaining strong client partnerships and identifying opportunities for additional services.
• Lead coordination between engineering leads, project teams, and functional managers to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
• Develop and review project financial reports, schedules, and resource forecasts with Accounting and Project Controls.
• Report project performance, financial status, schedule, and risks to clients and internal leadership.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers, engineers, and project staff.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and promote collaboration across engineering, project controls, accounting and support functions.
• Support development and improvement of project management processes, tools and best practices.
• Assist with and lead proposal development, including scope definition, scheduling and cost estimates for RFP responses.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Business Development to expand client relationships and identify opportunities.
• Prepare and present technical and project performance reports to clients and internal leadership.
• Work with Accounting and Project Controls on invoicing and accounts receivable.
• Perform other duties as needed.
