Job summary

Pickett is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex engineering programs for electric utilities. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality while guiding multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff.

You will interface with clients, drive project delivery, and support business development with existing and new clients in a hybrid work setting. PE or PMP credentials are preferred and some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or related engineering (preferred).
• 10+ years of experience managing engineering or infrastructure projects.
• PE registration or PMP certification is required.
• Experience with electric utilities and large, complex projects is preferred.
• Strong leadership and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of engineering projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities.
• Provide leadership for project execution including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
• Oversee financial performance and develop recovery plans as needed.
• Serve as primary client relationship manager and identify opportunities for additional services.
• Coordinate between engineering leads, project teams, and functional managers to ensure timely delivery.
• Develop and review project financial reports, schedules, and resource forecasts with Accounting and Project Controls.
• Report project performance and risks to clients and leadership.
• Mentor project managers, engineers and staff to develop PM capabilities.
• Promote collaboration across engineering, controls, accounting, and support functions.
