Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Woodcliff Lake, NJ office!

This Senior Project Manager will lead multidisciplinary teams in designing various building types throughout New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania. The role involves coordinating all project efforts—design, administrative, and technical—to ensure efficient and cost-effective project execution. The Senior Project Manager acts as the primary client liaison, managing schedules, budgets, scope, and resource utilization to meet client satisfaction and firm profitability. Responsibilities also include managing client budgets, schedules, project documentation, and team assignments, as well as estimating fees, developing proposals, and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary design interface with clients and consultants, maintaining proactive communication with all stakeholders.
• Collaborate with division and company leadership.
• Estimate design fees, develop proposals, change orders, invoices, and participate in the collection process related to architectural projects and client relationships.
• Create project schedules and work plans, and coordinate staffing needs.
• Handle contract administration issues, including collection and payment issues, and act as the client interface for negotiations and collections.
• Maintain project programs and schedules for effective implementation.
• Manage project budgets to meet client requirements using existing firm resources.
• Oversee the production of design and construction documents, review constructibility, and provide solutions to design issues.
• Provide QA/QC support, ensuring design intent and documentation quality.
• Guide less experienced staff to prevent issues and mistakes.
• Coordinate with engineering consultants.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration within the team.
• Participate in business development and marketing efforts.
• Mentor project team members, including new hires and interns.
• Encourage a culture of design excellence and elevate project quality.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

• Professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.
• Architecture license required.
• Experience with municipal buildings such as community centers, libraries, DPWs, and court facilities.
• 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, preferably in an in-house setting.
• Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD Architecture, and Bluebeam Revu or similar software.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore.
• Experience with project scheduling tools like MS Project.
• Active licensure or actively seeking licensure with NCARB membership.
• Participation in marketing and business development activities.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
