Applying advanced project management frameworks and methods, this role manages projects of broad and diverse scope, size, budget, and team composition, including multi-workstream and multi-client-stakeholder engagements with considerable impact to the organization and its clients.
Beyond direct project delivery, the Senior Project Manager serves as a technical leader within the PMO: mentoring and providing guidance to other Project Managers, shaping PMO methodology and governance, and acting as a trusted advisor to Delivery Managers, Cloud Delivery Architects, Account Managers, executive stakeholders, and clients while upholding TrustedTech's standards for white-glove service, quality, and execution.
Responsibilities:
Complex Project & Program Delivery
- Own and manage the most complex, strategic Professional Services projects (including multi-phase, multi-workstream, and enterprise-scale engagements) from intake through closure, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget adherence.
- Translate signed statements of work into detailed project plans, defining phases, milestones, resource needs, and evaluation criteria, and determine the methods and techniques best suited to each engagement.
- Lead project kickoff sessions, aligning internal teams and clients on goals, roles, and success criteria for high-visibility engagements.
- Oversee groups of related projects within a client program or portfolio where needed, ensuring interdependencies, resources, and priorities are managed holistically.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned, feed improvements back into PMO practices, and close out projects cleanly.
Executive Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment
- Serve as the primary and escalation point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders on complex strategic engagements, including regular interaction with senior and executive-level personnel.
- Coordinate and direct cross-functional resources, including architects, vendors, and partners, across concurrent workstreams.
- Lead internal and client meetings (including steering committees and executive readouts), ensuring accountability, decision-making, and follow-through.
- Facilitate alignment on priorities and decisions across competing stakeholder interests, resolving conflicts and negotiating additional resources when needed to achieve project goals.
Delivery & Performance Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day execution across assigned projects, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Monitor risks, dependencies, and progress on highly complex, project-related issues, analyzing variable factors and proposing innovative solutions, and elevate to leadership with recommended paths forward.
- Track project performance and financial health against scope, budget, and timeline, understanding the cost impact of decisions and adjusting plans to stay on course.
- Deliver projects within target margin by actively managing labor hours, resource mix, and change orders, and proactively addressing variances that threaten project profitability.
- Identify and resolve delivery bottlenecks across teams, and manage issues that arise from implementing changes within client organizations.
- Mentor, coach, and provide day-to-day guidance to Project Managers, supporting their development in methodology, client management, and delivery execution.
- Serve as an escalation and advisory resource for other PMs on complex delivery challenges, risk situations, and client conflicts.
- Support onboarding of new PMO team members and champion consistent adoption of PMO standards across the team.
- Act as a subject matter expert who influences and guides the project management methods, tools, and processes used across Professional Services.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, risk/issue logs, financial trackers, and change records.
- Deliver weekly project status reports to clients and internal stakeholders, and prepare executive-level summaries highlighting progress, risks, financials, and upcoming milestones.
- Track and document scope changes, ensuring change orders are properly reviewed, approved, and recorded.
- Maintain a centralized repository of project artifacts for audit, reference, and knowledge-sharing purposes.
Process, Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of PMO templates, standards, playbooks, and governance processes.
- Analyze recurring inefficiencies and delivery data across engagements, and initiate and drive process improvement initiatives from proposal through adoption.
- Develop and own playbooks and best practices for common and emerging engagement types.
- Ensure project execution across the team aligns with established PMO governance and quality standards.
Schedule & Resource Management
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and communication strategies aligned with project objectives, ensuring on-time delivery across the project lifecycle.
- Anticipate obstacles, identify schedule risks early, and build contingency plans to protect key milestones.
- Adjust project timelines as scope or resource changes occur, communicating impacts and options to stakeholders and leadership.
