Overview:
TrustedTech is seeking an Advisory Program Lead to manage the day-to-day execution of client advisory engagements and help build the operating foundation for a scalable Advisory Services practice. This is a hands-on, client-facing program management role with the opportunity to grow into a leadership role in an Advisory Program Management Office (PMO) as the business expands.
Initially, the Advisory Program Lead will personally manage a portfolio of advisory projects and recurring programs, owning engagement plans, governance, milestones, financial visibility, resource coordination, customer communications, risk management, and the delivery of contractual commitments. The role partners with technical advisory specialists and delivery teams but is not expected to personally author deep technical recommendations or perform technical remediation.
As engagement volume grows, this leader will establish repeatable methodologies, management reporting, and operating controls; inform staffing plans; and recruit, mentor, and lead a team of project and program management professionals when business demand supports it. The ideal candidate combines disciplined execution with professional services, commercial acumen, executive communication, and a builder mindset.
Responsibilities:
Hands-on Advisory Project & Program Management:
- Personally manage multiple customer-facing advisory engagements, including assessments, strategy workshops, roadmaps, and recurring advisory programs, from initiation through closure or renewal.
- Build and maintain engagement plans, scope and deliverable registers, schedules, action logs, risk and issue registers, decision logs, and dependency tracking; drive timely closure of commitments.
- Lead customer kickoffs, status reviews, steering meetings, and executive updates; ensure clear ownership, decision-making, escalation paths, and transparent communication.
- Manage scope and change requests against statements of work (SOWs), documenting impacts to fees, timeline, resources, and deliverables, and coordinating approvals.
- Coordinate technical advisory specialists, solution architects, account teams, and delivery leaders to achieve consistent execution and effective advisory-to-remediation handoffs.
Program Governance, Customer Outcomes & Value Tracking:
- Establish customer-specific governance cadences, success criteria, reporting packs, and executive scorecards tailored to the engagement and contracted service.
- Track recommendations from assessment findings through prioritized remediation roadmaps, accountable owners, customer decisions, and measurable outcomes.
- For recurring Trusted Advisor-style offerings, coordinate onboarding, baseline validation, recurring reviews, approved action tracking, contractual entitlements, and renewal readiness.
- Monitor satisfaction, program health, risks, escalations, and progress against agreed outcomes; intervene early and partner with leadership on resolution.
- Monitor engagement budgets, contracted hours or entitlements, resource assignments, utilization, effort forecasts, delivery progress, and margin performance in partnership with finance and services leadership.
- Maintain portfolio-level visibility into capacity, backlog, upcoming milestones, forecasted demand, program status, and engagement economics.
- Support presales with realistic delivery plans, resource assumptions, SOW inputs, and execution-risk reviews, without owning the overall advisory sales strategy.
- Identify follow-on remediation, advisory expansion, and renewal opportunities; document and transition qualified opportunities to the account and Solutions & Services leadership.
Advisory PMO Development & Future Team Leadership:
- Design and implement scalable PMO standards for intake, onboarding, project planning, governance, status reporting, quality assurance, risk management, and closeout.
- Create reusable templates, dashboards, operating procedures, and metrics that improve delivery consistency without burdening lean advisory teams with unnecessary processes.
- Define resource and workload models, operating KPIs, and staffing recommendations as the advisory portfolio grows.
- As business demand warrants, participate in hiring and onboarding project/program managers, coach their performance, and progressively assume leadership of the Advisory PMO.
- Collaborate with the broader Professional Services delivery PMO while maintaining clear accountability for Advisory-specific engagements and governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications (must-haves):
- 7+ years in customer-facing project/program management, consulting operations, or professional services; experience directly owning multiple concurrent technology engagements.
- Proven ability to independently manage project plans, risks, change control, stakeholder communications, budgets, resource coordination, and deliverable quality.
- Experience managing SOW-based services engagements with an understanding of scope, utilization, forecasting, revenue, margin, and customer commitments.
- Strong executive communication and facilitation skills; ability to lead customer governance meetings, navigate escalations, and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Working familiarity with Microsoft cloud transformation programs, such as Azure infrastructure, cloud economics/FinOps, security, governance, Modern Work, or Data & AI; technical fluency rather than hands‑on architecture depth.
- Ability to operate effectively in an evolving organization, implement lightweight repeatable processes, and build scalable reporting and operating discipline.
- Demonstrated leadership potential, including coaching peers, improving team practices, or helping stand up a PMO or program management capability.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications (nice-to-haves):
- Experience at a Microsoft partner, cloud managed services provider, systems integrator, or technology consulting firm.
- Experience operating recurring advisory, managed services, or customer success programs in addition to fixed-scope projects.
- PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Scrum, ITIL, or comparable program/project management credentials.
- Experience with Salesforce, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Project, Power BI, or similar portfolio, financial, and reporting tools.
- Exposure to Azure Well-Architected Framework, Cloud Adoption Framework, FinOps, security governance, organizational change, and value realization approaches.
- Experience hiring, mentoring, or managing project/program managers, or helping build a project management function.
