Job summary

GH Engage is seeking a Senior Mechanical Construction Project Manager to lead complex commercial HVAC and plumbing projects. You will own projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time performance while managing budgets and client relationships.

You will mentor project teams, coordinate with stakeholders, review contracts and drawings, and drive project success from estimate handoff to field execution, supporting the growth of the project-management group.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of construction project management experience.
• Significant experience with commercial HVAC, plumbing or mechanical construction.
• Proven responsibility for budgets, schedules, and financial performance.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installation sequencing.
• Experience managing subcontractors and procurement.
• Ability to review drawings, specifications, contracts and detailed schedules.
• Leadership and mentoring experience for project/field personnel.
• Excellent client-facing communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent mechanical construction experience considered.

Senior Project Manager (Mechanical Construction)

An established and growing mechanical contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex commercial HVAC and plumbing projects.

This individual will take full ownership of projects from preconstruction through closeout, with responsibility for financial performance, scheduling, procurement, field operations and client relationships. The Senior Project Manager will also provide leadership to project teams and support the development of Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and field personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial mechanical projects from initial planning through commissioning and closeout
• Take overall responsibility for project safety, quality, schedule and profitability
• Review contracts, estimates, drawings and specifications to establish project scope and execution strategy
• Develop project budgets, cost codes, procurement schedules and labor forecasts
• Monitor job costs, productivity, cash flow, forecasts and cost-to-complete reporting
• Oversee the installation of HVAC, plumbing, piping and associated mechanical systems
• Manage procurement and negotiate major equipment, material and subcontractor packages
• Review and approve submittals, RFIs, change orders, purchase orders and project documentation
• Partner with superintendents and field leadership to manage manpower, productivity and construction schedules
• Identify financial, contractual and operational risks and implement corrective action
• Lead project meetings and provide clear reporting to clients and senior management
• Manage relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors and design teams
• Support business development by maintaining client relationships and identifying future project opportunities
• Mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers and help develop future leaders
• Ensure a smooth transition from estimating and preconstruction into field execution
• Promote a strong safety culture across all project teams

Requirements

• At least 10 years of construction project management experience

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, installation methods and construction sequencing
• Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, equipment procurement and project buyout
• Ability to review mechanical drawings, specifications, contracts and detailed project schedules
• Strong knowledge of job costing, forecasting, change-order management and cost control
• Demonstrated leadership and experience mentoring project or field personnel
• Excellent client-facing, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage complex projects and several competing priorities
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent mechanical construction experience will be considered
