Job summary

United Painting Services, Inc. has been a commercial trade partner in the Charlotte area since 2004. We run four divisions, UP Paint, UP Drywall, UP Acoustical, and UP Firestopping, serving general contractors and owners on commercial and institutional work across the Carolinas. We hold MBE, SBE, DBE, HUB, and ACDBE certifications, and we build long-term relationships by doing what we say we'll do.

Role Description

We're hiring a Senior Project Manager to own drywall, paint, and interiors projects from buyout through closeout. This is a full-time role based in our Charlotte office, with regular travel to jobsites across North and South Carolina, and it is not a desk job.

You’ll buy out the work, get material ordered ahead of need, run the schedule with your superintendents, track budget against actuals, get monthly GC billings out on time, and price and push change orders without lag. You’ll keep RFIs, submittals, and daily reports current in ACC, because if it isn’t documented, it didn’t happen. You’ll be the GC’s main contact, lead your supers, foremen, and APM/PE, and help us keep improving how we run jobs as we grow.

Qualifications

• A real construction background. Experienced PMs are preferred, but we’re also open to strong GC PMs and APMs, PMs from drywall, paint, or interiors subs, and long-time field leaders (supers, foremen, estimators) ready to step into a PM seat
• You understand job money: budgets, cost to complete, change orders, T&M, pay apps, and retainage
• You can read drawings and specs and catch scope gaps early
• You're comfortable running work from the field and leading crews and subs
• You're organized and follow through, keeping logs current and answering GCs and subs the same day
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with GCs, owners, and your own team
• You're willing to travel regularly to projects across the Carolinas

Nice to Have

• Background in painting, drywall, acoustical, or firestopping
• Experience with Procore or ACC, Bluebeam, Sage, and GCPay
• A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (equivalent field experience counts)
• Experience mentoring APMs or project engineers
