Job summary

Cumming Group in Concord, CA seeks an Associate Director of Project Management to lead K-12 public education projects from planning through completion. You will oversee scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination, acting as the owner's representative on complex assignments.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of PM leadership experience, a BS in construction/engineering or related field, and relevant CCM/PMP/PE/AIA credentials with prior K-12/DSA project experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Urban Planning, or related field.
• 10+ years PM experience including management.
• CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEEDry Exempt
• Previous K‑12/ DSA project experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a large project team or multiple small project teams and manage the scope, cost, and schedule objectives for the project (or program).
• Bring new business opportunities to the firm through performance excellence and positive client relationship management.
• Maintain monthly project budgets for current and forecasted expenditures.
• Be responsible for monthly billing and projections.
• Lead the development of staff through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring.
• Anticipate issues and help team members and partners avoid and recover.
• Develop and oversee RFPs for consultants and contractors.
• Develop and facilitate owner consultant, Architect, & GC RFPs.
• Observe potential internal/external conflict and implement proactive solutions to mitigate conflict.
• Train junior team members with a focus on building technical skills and competencies.
