Job summary

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) is seeking a Senior Project Manager in the Capital Program to oversee a portfolio of 6–10 active capital projects with a total value of about $100 million+. You will lead procurement of architecture, engineering, construction, and other consultants, and manage design through construction while aligning teams to project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban planning, or related field.
• Preferably working towards professional registration (PE, RA, RLA, AICP, CUD, CCM, PMP).
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in architecture, construction, real estate development, owner's representation, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects from planning through completion.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency and experience with scheduling software (preferred).
• New York City residency is required within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for assigned contracts and projects through all phases.
• Lead procurement and coordination of architecture, engineering, construction, and other consultants.
• Oversee planning, predevelopment activities, including conditions assessments, programming, and budgeting.
• Manage design from schematic design through construction documentation and approvals.
• Oversee bidding, construction, and close-out with cross-phase coordination.
• Coordinate teams and ensure deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Apply risk-based project delivery to identify and mitigate project risk.
• Maintain knowledge of industry practices and continue professional development.
