Job summary

National Grid plc in Massachusetts is seeking a Lead Project Manager for the NE Electric Complex Project Management team in a hybrid role. You will lead complex capital projects from development through construction, coordinating with a growing, diverse team to ensure on-time delivery and sustainable energy outcomes.

The role requires 5–7 years in engineering or project management, a bachelor’s in engineering, and possibly a master’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is strongly preferred; other fields with significant PM/engineering/construction/operations experience are welcome.
• 5-7 years of experience in engineering, project management, utility construction, or equivalent; a Master's degree or MBA is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Capital Delivery process including development/finalization of MSAs and construction contracts, baseline schedule, cost estimate and risk.
• Manage project finances and schedules within budget and timelines, addressing deviations and mitigating risks.
• Collaborate with customers to understand requirements and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate permitting with authorities and address delays to minimize disruptions.
• Maintain clear stakeholder communications with regular progress reports and milestones.
• Mentor junior Project Managers and share best practices for developing PM capability.
• Continuously improve PM processes, methodologies, and tools across the organization.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering (strongly preferred)

Master's degree in engineering discipline or MBA (desirable)
