Job summary

Terracon in Sacramento, CA is seeking a fully competent Geologist/Hydrogeologist to lead portions of projects, interpret subsurface data, and collaborate with engineering and environmental teams. The role includes planning, scheduling, and coordinating fieldwork, as well as preparing written reports and proposals for small and large projects.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Geology or Hydrogeology with at least 7 years of related experience; a master’s or PhD is preferred, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field and a minimum of 7 years’ related experience.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history may be required.
• Certification in field of expertise required.
• Ability to obtain registration as a Professional Geologist (PG) required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data to develop conclusions on environmental and geologic site conditions.
• Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with staff on projects.
• Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils including boring investigations and soil type classification.
• Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments and remediation activities.
• Develop written proposals to clients for projects including QC review.
