Job summary

Terracon in Greensboro, NC is seeking a seasoned Geologist/Hydrogeologist to evaluate subsurface data, develop site conclusions, and prepare plans and reports for investigations and remediation projects.

You will lead field teams, ensure safety and quality, participate in client meetings, and work on projects ranging from earthwork foundations to Phase I/II assessments, with opportunities to advance toward PG registration. Bachelor’s degree, 5–10 years, advanced degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field.
• 5–10 years related experience.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• Certification in field of expertise required.
• Ability to obtain registration as a Professional Geologist (PG) required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
• Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of work for projects of moderate scope and complexity.
• Possibly serve as a team leader and mentor junior Geologists.
• Perform scientific analyses on projects of own discipline.
• Attend on and off-site client meetings.
• Direct field staff to sample, test and collect data and document site activities.
• Develop written proposals and review proposals for clients.
• Evaluate complex laboratory and field data and assemble written reports.
