Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking an experienced Expediting Specialist to participate in planning, staffing, and budgeting for project expediting operations at a Houston site. You will distribute workload, monitor progress, contact suppliers, and prepare supplier evaluations to meet project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) required.
• 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of procurement and supply chain processes.
• Experience coordinating with engineering, purchasing, logistics, construction, and project controls.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the planning, staffing, and budgeting of project and area expediting operations for small sized projects.
• Distributes workload to assigned project expeditors according to experience and urgency.
• Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and follow-up on material progress.
• Evaluates production schedules and progress reports to ensure alignment with jobsite requirements.
• Coordinates with planning, scheduling, field material coordinators, and expeditors to set priorities and delivery dates.
• Expedites engineering for timely review and return of data submitted by suppliers.
• Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review schedules and potential issues.
• Coordinates shipping arrangements with the project Logistics representative.
