Job summary

Thornton Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Project Executive to lead and coordinate all phases of multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout. You will drive safety, quality and profitability while building high-performing teams.

The role requires onsite project leadership, strong budgeting and forecasting skills, and the ability to manage risk, schedules and owner communications to exceed expectations and deliver successful closeouts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering or applicable discipline plus a minimum of 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and/or experience.
• Onsite project management experience.
• Budgeting and forecasting experience in a job cost environment.
• Proficiency with computer applications, including scheduling and construction software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all phases of multiple projects from beginning to end, including preconstruction, budget, schedule, risk management, insurance, and closeout.
• Build diverse, high-performing teams through coaching, training and development opportunities.
• Oversee preconstruction and ensure safe and profitable execution of work.
• Develop budgets and milestones; aim to exceed owner expectations and profitability objectives.
• Monitor project performance, forecast outcomes and manage resources throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish strong owner relationships and secure positive references for Thornton.
