Job summary

Thornton Construction Company, a Miami-based construction management firm with 25+ years of experience, is seeking a Chief Estimator. You will lead the estimating team, manage preconstruction efforts, and drive cost accuracy across conceptual and GMP projects.

You will collaborate with project managers, owners, architects, and subs to develop competitive bids, build cost histories, and support profitability with advanced estimation methods and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• 15+ years of estimating experience.
• 5+ years as Preconstruction Director or Chief Estimator supervising eight+ staff.
• Strong cost estimating and analysis across conceptual to construction stages.
• Experience with GMP and CMAR contracting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Preconstruction/Estimating staff and project workload.
• Lead detailed estimates for diverse ground-up and renovation projects.
• Prepare and analyze cost models and GMP estimates during bidding.
• Coordinate with project managers, owners, architects, and subcontractors.
• Manage RFP/Q preparation and pricing; ensure competitive bids.
