Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Executive I to provide overall management for large projects, lead the project team, and ensure successful customer relationships on assignments in the Nashville area.

The role requires a track record of managing development to closeout across diverse project types, strong local market ties, and the ability to drive profitability through sound budgeting and contract administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction management overseeing large projects of all types including industrial and manufacturing.
• Proven ability to fulfill development to closeout responsibilities for multiple, complex projects.
• Strong ties to the Nashville construction market and established relationships within the local construction community.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Nashville labor market, subcontractor network, and industry trends.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with construction professionals, trade organizations, and industry partners throughout the region.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Possess basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level.
• Proven positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies.
• Current driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain successful customer and community relationships
• Conduct key customer service visits from pre-construction to close-out
• Preview proposals and participate in Request for Proposal process
• Act as primary customer contact for assigned projects
• Support business development initiatives and maintain customer relationships
• Provide oversight and accountability for large projects
• Manage contract administration, including terms, change requests, and invoices
• Maintain project budgets, costs, and pricing for profitable delivery
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management for project team
