Job summary

Gilbane Building Company is seeking a Project Executive to lead a large, multi-discipline project team on site in a hands-on leadership role. You will guide direction, execution, and financial outcomes while coordinating with engineering and project services to meet owner requirements.

The role emphasizes strong technical skills and communication, with travel for trainings and meetings as needed. The ideal candidate will drive safety, quality, and client satisfaction on complex construction

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of experience in construction management.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Strong technical and communication skills.
• Ability to lead teams and manage project scope, schedule, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assumes overall accountability for jobsite safety.
• Assumes overall accountability for meeting contract requirements.
• Verifies the accuracy of project financial forecast, notice provisions, and billings to meet contract requirements; escalates deviations.
• Ensures team creates a project-specific quality plan aligned with owner contracts.
• Ensures a team creates a closeout plan in alignment with contract documents.
• Provides leadership in motivating the project team and maintains a positive work environment.
• Directs and supervises work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish priorities.
• Assumes overall accountability of subcontracting strategy and the integrity of the buyout process at project level.
• Negotiates all aspects of contracts, leads risk mitigation, reviews drafts and purchase orders.
• Ensures project compliance with insurance and bonds.
• Coordinates preconstruction services with contractual obligations; reviews deliverables.
• Leads the team with effective communication and prioritization to meet project schedule.
• Develops understanding of local markets to create networking strategy.
• Partners with business development to align with sales strategies and client plans.
• Responsible for career development and coaching of team members.
• Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment.
