Job summary

Langan International, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Engineering Geologist to join its Irvine, California team. This role leads field investigations, develops geological maps and reports, and provides technical direction to staff while building client relationships.

You will collaborate with engineers to assess site conditions, identify hazards, and deliver geologic solutions. The ideal candidate has a geology degree, PG license, 10+ years of experience, and strong analytical and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology; PG license required (Engineering Geologist license preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in engineering geology.
• Experience with geologic hazards, including landslide, A-P fault rupture evaluations, and rockfall projects.
• Experience with detailed geologic mapping at a professional level.
• Experience with interpreting stereo-paired aerial photographs.
• Ability to communicate technical details to clients, colleagues, and staff.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope and execute field investigations.
• Identify and implement field and lab work solutions.
• Identify and characterize geologic hazards in the field.
• Research and compile geologic data for projects.
• Provide geologic support regarding the impact of site conditions on structures.
• Collaborate with Langan Geology staff in other offices.
• Develop geologic cross sections, maps, and figures for project reports.
• Provide technical direction and oversight to staff.
• Prepare and review logs and reports.
• Interact with clients and contractors; develop client relationships.
• Manage projects and budgets; perform other duties as requested.
