Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Project Engineering Geologist for our Irvine, California team. The role focuses on leading field investigations, developing field and lab solutions, and guiding geologic analyses across projects.

You will oversee data collection, maps, and reports while interfacing with clients and fellow staff. You will contribute to client relationships, provide technical direction, and collaborate with Langan Geology staff nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology required; Master's preferred.
• Professional Geologist (PG) license required; Engineering Geologist license preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering geology field experience.
• Experience with geologic hazard investigations (landslides, faults, rockfall).
• Proficient geologic mapping and interpretation of aerial photos.
• Strong client communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope and execute field investigations.
• Identify and implement field and lab work solutions.
• Identify and characterize geologic hazards in the field.
• Research and compile geologic data for projects.
• Support site condition analyses with engineers.
• Collaborate with Geology staff in other offices.
• Develop geologic maps, logs, and figures for reports.
• Provide direction and oversight to staff.
• Prepare and review logs and reports.
• Interact with clients and contractors.
• Grow client relationships and manage projects and budgets.
