Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Project Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist to join our collaborative Irvine, CA team. This role focuses on identifying and managing environmental/engineering projects, conducting research and analyses, and supervising field investigations and laboratory work.

You will lead diverse projects, solve complex environmental challenges, and help restore properties to productive reuse while protecting the environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master’s degree preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of EPA, CERCLA, and RCRA regulations.
• 10+ years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects.
• Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• Strong people, project, and client management skills.
• Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software.
• Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analyses for portions of broader engineering and environmental projects.
• Identify and pursue new clients, develop additional work within a project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients.
• Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments.
• Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings and that data collection and lab analyses are on time and within budget.
• Manage and deliver on multiple projects within budgets, schedules, and deadlines; prepare progress reports and invoices.
• Edit reports, proposals, and other documents.
• Coordinate other work groups within offices or disciplines as needed.
• Interface professionally with clients, contractors, staff, and others.
• Perform other duties as requested.
