Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District is seeking a Project Engineer to lead the design and construction of capital improvement projects. This role progresses from concept through construction under an Engineering Program Manager, with potential promotional opportunities based on achievement and tenure.

The ideal candidate will have more than five years of engineering experience, a Texas PE license or eligibility within six months, and a background in water and wastewater project management,

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility within six months of hire.
• Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure projects preferred.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and construction management of capital improvement projects.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, and other departments to address impacts.
• Review design reports, plans, and specifications for completeness and technical accuracy.
• Maintain project records in NTMWD project management system.
• Manage project cost, schedule, and quality; oversee submittals and RFIs.
