Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District is seeking a Project Engineer to manage capital improvement projects from concept through construction and startup. You will lead design and construction for major water and wastewater projects, ensuring conformance with NTMWD standards and timelines.

Requirements include a Civil/Environmental/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree and a Texas PE license (or ability to obtain within six months) with 2 years PE or 6 years PM experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college.
• PE license in Texas or ability to obtain within six months; 2 years of PE PM experience preferred.
• Experience in water/wastewater process, treatment, pumping, collection or transmission infra.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and proficiency with Office, scheduling, estimating, modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Manages capital improvement projects from inception through startup and handover.
• Leads design and construction of major water and wastewater projects.
• Reviews design reports, plans and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintains project records in NTMWD’s project management system.
• Coordinates with Operations, Maintenance, and other NTMWD departments.
• Oversees schedule, cost control, submittals, RFIs, change orders and field reports.
• Leads project chartering and selection of professional services contracts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
