Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead and execute complex site-wide projects, manage the site Consultant Design Team, and oversee construction activities for new and retrofit facilities. You will develop and maintain project management processes and ensure compliance with codes and standards.

You will collaborate with site Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EH&S, manage risk, perform field observations, and drive safety and quality across mechanical

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in an engineering environment, preferably within Design or Operations.
• Minimum 4 years chemical/mechanical design and project experience in an industrial setting. Semiconductor fab experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of general water treatment technologies and/or processes.

Responsibilities

• Complete project management of multiple projects acrossSamsung watersystems from inception through execution, including cost control and reporting.
• Lead strategy and planning for mechanical systems related to new and retrofit construction.
• Develop, review, and approve SAS site construction specifications related to mechanical piping, equipment, and rooms/buildings.

Position Summary

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for leading and executing on critical projects that support operations and IWT improvements. This role involves managing the site Consultant Design Team to develop, review, and approve SAS site mechanical specifications and design packages for commercial and process systems, as well as overseeing Construction General Contractor activities related to new and retrofit construction. Additionally, this position contributes to the development and maintenance of overall project management systems and processes.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• CompleteprojectmanagementofmultipleprojectsacrosstheSamsungwatersystemsfrominceptionthroughexecution,includingcostcontrolandreporting.
• Leadstrategicfabandsupportprojectplanningformechanicalsystemsrelatedtonewandretrofitconstruction.
• Develop,review,andapproveSASsiteconstructionspecificationsrelatedtomechanicalpiping,equipment,andtheassociateddistributionroomsandbuildings.
• Providetechnicalguidancetocontracteddesignteamsduringfacilityconstructiondesignforreviewandapprovalofmechanicalconnectionsandmaterialsofconstruction.
• InterfacingwithsiteOperations,Maintenance,Engineering,andEHSteamstoauditthatexistingpiping,equipment,andsecondarycontainmentmeetsapplicablecodesandstandards.
• InterfacebetweenConstructionGeneralContractor,Subcontractor,ConsultantDesignTeam,andvariousSASOwnerorganizations.
• Identifying,tracking,managing,resolving,andcommunicatingprojectissuesduringconstructionincludingdocumentingSiteObservationReportsandmanagingconstructionpunchlistitemstoresolution.
• Proactivelyidentifying,managing,andmitigatingprojectriskpointsforsafetyandcodecompliance.
• Performingregularsitefieldobservationsinspectionstoverifyexistingconditionsofpreviouslyinstalledductwork,piping,andequipment,meetsafetyandcodestandards.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

Required Education and Experience

• B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical, Process or Industrial Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in an Engineering environment, preferably within Design or Operations.
• Working knowledge of general water treatment technologies and/or processes.
• Minimum 4 years chemical/mechanical design and project experience in an industrial setting. Semiconductor fab experience preferred.

Preferred Education and Experience

• 10+ years of experience in a Facilities/Manufacturing, Engineering and/or Project Management environment.
• Advanced knowledge of wastewater treatment systems.
• Basic knowledge of water treatment systems.
• Professional Engineering License a plus.
• PMP Certification a plus.

The current base salary range for this role is between $106,000 - $145,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
