Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking a senior Project Engineer VI to serve as a technical authority and strategic integrator for complex defense programs. You will guide architecture, verification, and integration across IPTs, aligning work with mission objectives and contractual requirements.

You will interact with DoD customers at the executive level, manage SOWs, and drive risk management, process improvements, and technical excellence across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain
• 15+ years of progressive experience in project engineering, systems engineering, or program-level technical leadership
• Proven ability to develop and execute technical strategies aligned with business/program objectives
• Strong leadership, influencing, and mentoring across engineering, PM and customer teams
• Deep understanding of DoD acquisition lifecycle and MIL-STD systems engineering processes
• Experience overseeing major subcontractors, suppliers, and multi-disciplinary teams
• Background in propulsion, flight vehicle integration, or complex electro-mechanical systems preferred
• Experience with customer engagements, proposals, and engineering process improvement initiatives

Responsibilities

• Serve as chief project engineer or senior technical lead for large defense programs
• Define and guide system architecture, integration, and verification strategies
• Oversee engineering execution across IPTs and major subs, ensuring technical, cost, and schedule compliance
• Lead technical baseline definition, config management, and system integration planning
• Chair or support major design reviews and ensure readiness with performance metrics
• Interface to executive management and DoD customers for technical meetings
• Manage SOWs, subcontractor deliverables, and major supplier inputs
• Develop and implement risk and opportunity management frameworks
• Mentor project engineers and functional leads
• Support proposal development, cost estimation, and capture activities
• Guide adherence to MBSE standards and configuration control
• Drive engineering process improvements and knowledge management
