Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering, a leading structural engineering firm, seeks a Project Engineer II (SPE) to drive structural design from concept to construction. You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and engage directly with clients to deliver technically sound projects.

You will use Revit, RISA, ETABS, SAP, and RAM to develop plans, ensure design intent, and meet regulatory standards. A PE license is preferred or in progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design.
• Experience in designing low- and mid-rise buildings and project management.
• Proficient with Revit and structural analysis software (RISA, ETABS, SAP, RAM).
• Strong knowledge of local and national building codes and construction practices.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead project teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with client-facing experience.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in solving design challenges.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural design and analysis using Revit, RISA, ETABS, SAP, and RAM.
• Prepare and review structural plans, specifications, and calculations.
• Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for compliance and safety.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and regulators to align designs.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians.
• Participate in client calls and meetings with technical input.
• Contribute to project budgeting, planning, and scheduling.
• Apply building codes and material knowledge to ensure efficient deliverables.
• Maintain organized records of design decisions and calculations.
