Job summary

DeSimone Consulting Engineering is seeking an Engineer to contribute to the structural design process across diverse projects. You will assist in analysis, development, and delivery from concept through construction while gaining hands-on experience in technical design and site observations.

Under guidance from senior engineers, you’ll support design development, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and help ensure project success.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Structural or Civil Eng with 1+ years of relevant coursework in structural analysis and design.
• Internship experience with a structural engineering firm with exposure to mid/high-rise building projects.
• Coursework in concrete, steel, wood and masonry design.
• Must pass basic engineering skills test.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis using software tools such as Revit and Rhino.
• Model building foundation and superstructure systems and design structural elements.
• Prepare structural drawings, technical reports, and documentation.
• Conduct field observations and inspections under senior guidance.
• Review submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain clear records of all design calculations and work products.
• Communicate effectively with teammates, clients, and management to ensure project success.
• Support project planning and contribute to internal operations, including timesheets and compliance with safety standards.
