Job summary

Nucor Insulated Panel Group (NIPG) seeks a Project Engineer III to lead research, design development, and testing to bring new sandwich panel concepts to market.

This role reports to the Research & Development Supervisor and collaborates with Engineering Lab Technicians, Product Managers, and Operations to ensure feasible, on-time delivery.

Candidates should have 5+ years in sandwich panel design and a BS in Mechanical or Materials Engineering, with strong communication and safety focus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in commercial sandwich panel design.
• Minimum 5 years engineering experience in commercial construction.
• BS in Mechanical or Materials Engineering.
• Experience with building codes and material design specs.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the innovation process for new product concepts and ensure timely progression.
• Collaborate with Engineering Lab Technicians and cross-functional teams.
• Report progress and challenges to schedule, design or budget.
• Support Product Managers, Sales Leaders, and Operations across the organization.
