Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) seeks a Senior Engineer to perform advanced engineering work and lead project activities in a safe, efficient manner. The role involves planning, analysis, and cross-team coordination across the Shreveport, LA and Hallsville, TX area.

You will mentor engineers, develop project plans, and present results to management and regulatory bodies. A PE license is encouraged, and relocation may be available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor's in engineering from ABET-accredited program, or 2 years with a Master's/PhD from ABET-accredited program.
• PE license in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico preferred, encouraged.
• Alternative: Engineering Technology degree with PE license or ABET-equivalent path.
• VP or above may waive degree requirements for non-ABET programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance to engineers; coordinate and lead work activities within teams.
• Develop plans with measurable goals and budgeting input; use CPM/PERT for schedules.
• Identify and resolve complex problems; communicate findings to management and stakeholders.
• Coordinate meetings and prepare clear reports on technical topics for management and regulatory bodies.
