Job summary

GAF Materials Corp. is seeking a Project Engineer to drive capital projects from design through turnover, ensuring safety, cost effectiveness, and on-time delivery. You will partner with production and maintenance to optimize plant performance and lead multi-disciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, hands-on project management experience, and a proactive problem-solving mindset for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years in manufacturing or roofing/building products.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects within budget and scope.
• Knowledge of process safety and equipment maintenance beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects across lifecycle to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Define design scopes, cost estimates, and capital expenditure justifications.
• Provide technical analyses and recommend process improvements.
• Coordinate design, installation, commissioning, and turnover activities.
• Manage internal maintenance and external contractors during projects.
• Support production and maintenance with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards for cost control and safety.
