Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our general engineering contract team. The role is embedded with the project manager at the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority office and involves scoping, production, and delivery of capital projects.

You will mentor junior staff and collaborate with clients to meet schedules and budgets, delivering high-quality engineering across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with eight years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering with seven years of relevant experience.
• PhD in Engineering with six years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level engineering solutions across disciplines.
• Oversee scope, work distribution, and budget adherence on complex projects.
• Assist in marketing responsibilities including proposal development.
• Develop scope of work and level of effort for projects within the discipline.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of the project team’s technical output.
• Mentor and review junior engineers’ work and provide feedback.
• Coordinate technical aspects with clients and teaming partners.
• Lead discipline delivery on large multi-disciplinary projects.
