Job summary

Merrick & Company is seeking a Project Engineer for a hybrid role across multiple offices (Greenwood Village CO, Tulsa OK, Chattanooga TN, Ellicott City MD, Richmond VA, Newport News VA). You will lead a multi-discipline team and serve as the main technical interface with clients, PMs, and procurement.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years in project engineering, plus a strong background in mechanical or process engineering and industry standards experience.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering experience and 5+ years in project engineering.
• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Background in Mechanical or Process Engineering and industrial design.
• Experience with Oil, Gas, Chemical, Power, Industrial Manufacturing, Food & Personal Care and Bioprocessing projects.
• Experience with codes, industry standards and guidelines (ASME, API, NFPA, PIP, etc.).
• Experience supervising engineers and designers.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Scheduling Software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera).
• Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead design activities and manage design deliverables.
• Ensure client satisfaction and work closely with the client's technical team.
• Coordinate engineering disciplines and manage discipline interfaces.
• Manage project resources, technical changes and expediting scheduled activities.
