Job summary

Hy-Tek Intralogistics in Erlanger, KY, seeks a Senior Project Engineer to drive the engineering effort from turnover to customer-site implementation. You will lead medium to large projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure alignment with scope and schedule.

You will review sales documents, provide field installation support, and coordinate with project controls and vendors to deliver complete systems on time. This role requires travel and hands-on mechanical expertise.

Qualifications

• Formal training in mechanical engineering or equivalent related experience.
• 15+ years’ experience in material handling industry or equivalent preferred.
• Expert knowledge of conveyor, racking, storage systems and/or advancing technologies preferred.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and related tools, and willingness to use design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium to large-size projects and direct other engineers as needed.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers on Hy-Tek standards, vendor tools, and procedures.
• Collaborate with Engineering Manager to improve drawing standards and processes.
• Present a professional image to customers and vendors.
• Review sales documents to ensure deliverables and components are included.
• Align engineering with project scope and schedule with PM.
• Perform engineering calculations for conveyor systems; outsources rack/structural work as needed.
• Coordinate with project controls to meet controls methodology.
• Assist with purchase orders for mechanical/structural components.
• Hold vendors accountable to scope deliverables.
• Manage project drawings and equipment lists through installation.
• Review installation package with field team prior to start.
• Provide field installation support and answer questions during installation.
• Support maintenance manuals and spare parts info from vendors.
• Provide as-built drawings at project completion.
• Maintain organized project folders.
• Develop skills to lead smaller projects while growing project size.
