Job summary

Martin/Martin, Inc. seeks a senior engineer to join the Investigative Engineering Group in our Larkspur office. You will manage multiple small to mid-size projects, lead investigations, evaluation, repair design for existing buildings and new designs, and mentor junior staff.

The ideal candidate has strong client management experience, familiarity with ASCE 41/IEBC, and a track record in project delivery. Relocation support and a Bay Area work presence are anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
• Minimum of 9 years progressive engineering experience.
• 1 year of professional experience equivalencies include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering, OR passing the 16-hour NCEES structural engineering exam.
• Prior experience with ASCE 41 and the International Existing Building Code.
• 5+ years of project management experience, including demonstrated ability to take a project from inception to final completion.
• Must be eligible to work for any employer within the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to work in the San Francisco Bay Area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
• Demonstrates leadership abilities beneficial to the company’s future
• Consistently meets established financial metrics.

Responsibilities

• Assists in conceptual design.
• Assists in fee determination and proposal preparation.
• Establishes a QA/QC plan for each project.
• Acts as a mentor for younger engineers and assists with their career development.
• Attends project meetings and represents Martin/Martin, Inc. during design and construction.
• Follows up on collection of account receivables.
