Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a mid-level structural engineer to join our Investigative Engineering Group in our San Mateo, California office.

The role combines in‑office design work with on‑site evaluations, with a focus on renovations, restorations, retrofit, and repairs for existing structures. You will mentor staff, meet with clients, prepare reports, and produce engineering deliverables aligned with project needs, collaborating with owners, architects, and contractors to ensure project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
• 4 years progressive engineering experience.
• Must be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to work in the San Mateo area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.
• Exhibits effective communication and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform investigations with in‑house staff and clients.
• Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle.
• Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high‑quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs.
• Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
• Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities.
• Develop design recommendations for projects.
• Assemble construction drawings, write and edit specifications, and follow project specific QA/QC plans.
