Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to serve as the technical authority for complex industrial refrigeration and gas compression projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams from concept to commissioning. The role emphasizes technical excellence, project execution, and adherence to company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience leading complex engineered-to-order industrial equipment or systems projects.
• Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration, gas compression, pressure piping systems, or related thermodynamic processes.
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (ASME, CRN, NFPA, AWS).
• Ability to travel 10–15% and communicate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical authority for complex refrigeration and gas compression projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and field service functions.
• Review and approve compression system designs for compliance with codes, standards, and customer specifications.
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and issue resolution with key accounts.
• Mentor engineers and drive continuous improvement by developing standards, tools, and lessons learned.
