Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for a major multiyear I-95 widening project in the Savannah, GA region. You will lead the engineering side, manage submittals, schedules, and cost reports, and coordinate with DOT inspectors and design engineers on field issues.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of heavy civil highway/bridge experience, a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, and readiness to relocate for a long-term assignment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project engineering experience on heavy civil highway, bridge or DOT projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Hands on with submittals, RFIs, quantities, cost reports and change orders.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.
• Bridge experience is a plus.
• SCDOT, GDOT or other state DOT experience is a plus.
• Based in the Savannah area or ready to relocate for a multiyear project.

Responsibilities

• Run submittals and RFIs for your scope from start to closeout.
• Build and maintain quantity takeoffs, project logs and pay applications.
• Track cost against budget and prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts.
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6 with the field team.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and material deliveries.
• Work with the owner, DOT inspectors and design engineers on change orders and field issues.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, traffic control and environmental requirements.
• Mentor the project and field engineers on the team.
• Support the Project Manager and Superintendent, with real time in the field on bridge and roadway work.
