Job summary

Markent Personnel is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for heavy civil, FDOT roadway and bridge work in the Naples area. You will lead technical and commercial aspects from RFIs to cost tracking, coordinating with the owner, EOR, and field team.

The role requires 5+ years on heavy civil projects, FDOT experience, and a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree. Southwest Florida relocation is welcomed, with opportunities to advance toward Project Manager.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project engineering on heavy civil, highway or bridge work.
• FDOT project experience.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Florida PE license is a plus.
• Based in Southwest Florida or willing to relocate to Naples.

Responsibilities

• Run RFIs, submittals and coordination with owner, EOR and field team.
• Build and update project schedules in Primavera P6.
• Track quantities and cost against bid and monthly forecasts.
• Manage subcontractors, contracts and change orders.
• Review plans, specifications and shop drawings for FDOT conformance.
• Support monthly pay estimates, billing and cash flow.
• Coordinate survey, QC/QA inspections.
• Lead project meetings with foremen and subs.
• Maintain NPDES, SWPPP and safety program.

Senior Project Engineer, Heavy Civil / FDOT

Location: Naples, FL (Southwest Florida)

A heavy civil highway and bridge contractor with work across Florida is hiring a Senior Project Engineer for FDOT roadway and bridge work in the Naples area. This is a strong opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer or a strong Project Engineer ready to step up, with 5+ years on heavy civil jobs, who wants more ownership and a clear path to Project Manager. You'll run the technical and commercial side of the job, from RFIs and submittals to subcontractors, quantities and cost, much of it FDOT work. Southwest Florida locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Run RFIs, submittals and technical coordination with the owner, Engineer of Record and field team
• Build and update the project schedule in Primavera P6
• Track quantities, cost against bid and monthly forecasts
• Manage subcontractors, their contracts and change orders
• Review plans, specifications and shop drawings for contract and FDOT conformance
• Support monthly pay estimates, billing and cash flow
• Coordinate survey, quality control and quality assurance inspections
• Work with the superintendent to spot conflicts and delays before they hit the field
• Lead project meetings with foremen, subcontractors and owner representatives
• Keep NPDES, the SWPPP and the safety program on track

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of project engineering on heavy civil, highway or bridge work for a contractor
• FDOT project experience
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Strong with RFIs, subcontractor management, change orders, quantities and cost tracking
• Primavera P6 and Excel
• Florida PE license is a plus
• HCSS HeavyJob experience is a plus
• OSHA 30 is a plus
• Based in Southwest Florida or ready to relocate to the Naples area
