Job summary

FlatironDragados is seeking a Project Manager to lead a technically complex construction project from start to finish, overseeing budget, schedule, and personnel to ensure timely, high‑quality delivery. You will coordinate with owner and stakeholders, manage risk, review contract terms, and drive safety and compliance while reporting monthly cost forecasts and preparing project closeout documentation.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in construction project management and 5+ years’ experience in managing personnel.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field highly regarded.
  • Federal agency experience required with DOD, NAVFAC, GSA, USACE.
  • Deep understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and specific agency requirements.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage and retain positive working relationships while delegating tasks effectively.
  • Strong ability to identify, track and manage project risk.
  • Ability to manage multiple departments and direct reports toward one completion goal and timeline.
  • Identifies growth opportunities for personnel and coaches/mentors staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Excel.
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 or other scheduling software.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical and financial documents and respond to inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of the project, including construction, budget, and cash management for a single project.
  • Develops and manages the project schedule, pay estimates, procedures, staffing, and equipment resources.
  • Assesses initial project contract for completeness and resolves specification or scheduling issues.
  • Oversees engineering and scheduling teams to identify and negotiate change orders.
  • Creates and presents monthly cost and revenue forecasts and reports.
  • Maintains relationships with supporting departments and the project owner.
  • Operates as the main point of contact for third-party stakeholders.
  • Reviews and approves internal and external media releases regarding the project.
  • Ensures safety reviews and procedures are followed with weekly checks and meetings.
  • Reviews and approves staffing and equipment needs for production.
  • Participates in dispute resolution with support from legal counsel.
  • Provides input on procurement methods and contracts for efficiency.
  • Leads project closeout, finalizes paperwork, and conducts debriefs.
